Annual House Price Growth At 10.6% In August: UK average house prices increased by 10.6% over the year to August 2021, up from 8.5% in July, according to the latest figures released this morning from ONS. Despite the data being a little dated, the official government figures reveal that average UK house prices reached £264,000 in August 2021 – £25,000 higher than this time last year. Read more. 

Demand Continues To Outpace Supply For Fifth Consecutive Month: A fifth consecutive month of low property supply levels, with new listings reporting lower numbers than pre-pandemic figures in 2019 has been recorded, according to the latest data released by Landmark Information Group. Read more.  

Super-Prime London Rental Supply At Lowest Level Since 2016: London has become a landlord’s market with rental values in prime central London rising by 2.8% in the three months to September. Read more.

Interest Rate Rise Coming – Could It Actually Be Good For House Sales? Rightmove is warning that it’s “highly likely” interest rates will rise in the near future. The portal believes this now seems inevitable “as the Bank of England seeks to control resurgent inflation.”  It says this means there’s a small window of opportunity for buyers and sellers to get deals done ahead of the BoE acting.
